Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Just took out the condenser which I now remember changing soon after I restored the car because I had a running issue which turned out to be points closed up. So I had removed a good condenser and replaced with an AC delco type. Well this has done about 8 years and when I removed this I found the en...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Hi Tony, i checked the circuit and the rev counter is a secondary circuit so if it was taken out or disconnected the car should still work but the coil and condensor would cause the engine to faulter and also the rev counter that is fed off the signal to also follow. Also there is a possiblilty of i...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Polished brake pipes cleaned the fuel tank gave it a hoover. Also started fitting turbo fan to cool carbs in hot stationary traffic, will be noisy but should run idle better. I will put it on a thermal switch with over ride in case. Also it hic-upped for the first time in 8 years! On my way to see m...

The extra bush, is that to convert the large hole shocks to the small hole?

Like the damask tc saloon. There was one up for sale a while ago but can’t remeber if this is the one?
Not many late 1.5mk TCs left and looks to be in nice condition.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Washed mine on Sunday for the first time in 18 months, then took it for a drive in the sun and then tucked it back in the dry with the cover on.
Probably the second time it has been washed with soapy water as it was very dusty and had a film on the out side.
Will get a nice polish and service soon.

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic

The Britax Weathershield sunroof was fitted 2 years after the car was built. When BL fitted vinyl roofs often the metal underneath was only in primer sometimes. But re trimming the Jubilee roof did cost a bit but the vinyl had to come down the A pillars to look right.

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic

As i said lots of wasted vinyl as the sunroof was trimmed to match but could not use the piece cut out for the hole as it would be to small so another piece was used. Sunroof was done by another person as it required a fair bit of skill.

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic

They often stopped just below top of windscreen to save on vinyl material. Loads of vinyl was wasted on mine for rear and front screens plus the sunroof
