Re: Wheels

David beat me to it. Stainless all the way. don't have to worry about them again. Chrome plated ones last a year before they show signs of flaking.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Are the floats intact ie. not split or cracked as this would let in petrol and they are no longer a float.
I don't think I could set the height on mine as it was set by the needle alone. But been a while since I took the top off.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Should be able to re-jet the float lids as it is the needle end which wears not the lid.
the needle end gets a groove worn in it and then either shuts off to late or not shuts off completely.

Re: Drive train oil seals

Hi Adz, Just don't push the seal fully home so the lip uses a new part of the shaft. also cross hatch the shiny surface with fine wet and dry to help the seal bed in.
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: HSBC and British cycling advert yellow marina coupe

Is the number plate real though - JAS 338? I expect it was on for filming as it comes up as a Green Austin 1956 which is still on the road which is odd why they used that one?

Re: Insurance agreed value

If agreed valuation is taken out and the car is lost beyond repair and no equal match can be found as a replacement then they pay the agreed value as this is a separate item on top of the standard insurance. No point having it if they don't pay out. Also I had the same issue with Adrian flux, went t...

Re: Mumford Marina Badge

Hi David, my windscreen was £114 but I guess they will be a bit more now. that was for a Laminated Sundym spec with green top tint. They could do green, bronze or blue top tints. they also baked on a triplex mark on to make it look more original. Be sad to see it shut down as I doubt any other place...

Re: Mumford Marina Badge

That would be a bad thing as it will mean no more custom windscreens - Do I get a spare made?

Re: Mk2 1.8 HL Automatic update

Mine being pre 1973 has no emissions test just visible smoke test. Twin carbs do run a bit rich on tick over, if they are leaned off to much as my first MOT guy did, it made it run like a pig. At the time he thought it had to pass emissions. yours is new so I guess 1976 so may still require emissions?

Re: how many Marinas left in Ireland?

As far as I know those pictures above is what we had in the UK Coupes had the Morris in the back flash and saloons didn't. I spy my motor in the distance of the second picture. If we can ask Kevin to bring his Jubilee to Peterborough then we could have 3 Jubilees out of the 5 on the road in one spot...

That really did twist the shell bad!
Exposed some rot to that looked like it was hiding.
Glad you are OK Baz.
Have you got the car back for spares?
