Re: Help - 4dr rear screen seal and pedal box
Unfortunately the one that East Kent lists is only for a 2dr, I've sent several emails to them about other options but never got a reply. Other way around - they sell a saloon one as a stock item, we've been trying to get them to do a 2 door coupé one for a few years now. Saloon one is here ;) Thei...

Re: Help - 4dr rear screen seal and pedal box
Screen rubbers "East Kent Trim" in the UK is the only source I know of, but Skip Harris in the states might be able to help you our (I don't have his contact details unfortunately, but someone will!). The pedal box itself should be the same for an auto or manual, there's just a blanking pl...

Re: Morris marina 1.8DL 1972 cluch kit
The clutch is the same for a DL, SDL or TC (but 1.3 and 1.8 are different). However, are you sure it's not the clutch hydraulics that have failed? Check the clutch arm sticking out the side of the bellhousing is actually moving when you press the pedal (will need a tame assistant, or a camera set up...

Re: Dropping Front Suspension
I'm not aware of anyone lowering a car by any other method than using the adjusters or moving the splines on the torsion bar. Important bits of car start getting unpleasantly close to the floor if you go much lower...

Re: Converting a 4 speed gearbox to a 5 speed (1800)
Gearboxes are- generally- fairly fixed units. You can't just bolt another gear in there any more than you can turn a 4 cylinder engine into a 5 cylinder by nailing an extra cylinder on the back! An overdrive goes on the output end of a gearbox and gives you the option of either a "straight thro...

Re: Converting a 4 speed gearbox to a 5 speed (1800)
BL - British Leyland, the parent company of Morris at the time the Marina was designed and built. Trans tunnel- Transmission Tunnel, fairly self explanatory, it's the bump between the seats to give clearance for the gearbox and propshaft. It's unusually small on a Marina as Bryan has said, good for ...

Re: Cheapest Marina car insurance
I'm not paranoid, they really are out to get me... I'm not sure why you're making such a big deal of this. It's all a game of risk (and, like all games of that ilk, the statistical probabilities are weighted and the game balanced in the dealer's favour- that's not a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, it...

Re: Cheapest Marina car insurance
Classic insurance policies are generally cheaper than a normal modern car policy, but I think are pretty much all fully comprehensive. They're is because generally classic cars are better cared for, driven more cautiously, and not driven as many miles or during busy times/ on busy roads when compare...

Re: Distributor options
I've not put it together yet but I have an engine built to a very similar spec to yours (1860 fast road, Burgess head with the standard early 70's "big" valves, 185 cam). The "new" distributors will have a generic curve in them- they should be tuneable, within the limitations of ...

The rubber D shaped ones? The club (David) has NOS Mk1 rubbers available, or Superflex do both Mk1 and Mk2 on types in polyurethane.

Re: Marina 1300 radiator upgrade?
I don't think the 1.3s tend to run particularly hot anyway do they?
I got my 1.8 radiator recored with a 3 row Sherpa one but a standard radiator in good order should be fine really.
