Re: electric fuel pump

All SUs, what ever engine only need 2-3 psi, any more and the excess pressure lifts the float needle valve off it’s seat and floods the carbs. A fuel pump for a Weber or Dell’orto carb will have about 5-7 psi, which is enough to cause the problem. I recall some years back that Simon Thornber fit a p...

Re: electric fuel pump

I used one of these FuelFlow 015 for years on my twin SU carb 1800 Marina, quiet and very reliable. The manufacturers are based in New Zealand, but they are readily available in the UK. They are suitable for SUs and Strombergs, but Weber’s and a Dell’ortos need a higher fuel pressure rate. They are ...

Re: BMC/BL show Peterborough is no more!

Some of our members were treated quite badly last year IMHO, so we decided that we wouldn’t support the show this year, instead going for the Milton Keynes Show. I think that some other clubs had similar experiences. The organisers have said that the main reason is that some of the organising team a...

Re: Clutch cylinders

The clutch master and clutch slave are the same on all Marinas and Itals. Except very early Marina clutch slaves. What do you need, I can supply reconditioned masters and slaves, that have been sleeved in stainless steel, with new seals and pistons where necessary. These are supplied on exchange onl...

Re: NOISY GEARBOX

Drain the gearbox oil and check it for bits of metal. Refill with fresh oil and drive it,to see if the noise has gone. Make sure that you use the correct oil, check your manual. If the old oil is clean with no bits in that’s good. Measure how much oil comes out and compare it to how much you have to...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

That was me chatting to him, he asked if it was worth more or less than £500, I suspect more but without seeing it your guess is as good as mine, I think it's possibly a TC though as he think it has twin carbs. Saying that I have a feeling someone else who was sniffing around it who offered £500 ha...

Re: Should the coupe have looked like this?

Hmmm, if you extend the door by say four or five inches and then move the B pillar back by four or five inches to match, you are not actually changing the wheelbase. Then of course, if you did the same to a Mumford, you could dispense with the the funny side windows, but maybe adapt a Stag roll over...

Re: Should the coupe have looked like this?

Frank if you ever fancy making a proper Coupe, do you fancy it?

We could show it at the NEC as “if only BL had made one”.

Re: Should the coupe have looked like this?

Move the B post back four inches, extend the door by the same amount, but keep the standard wheelbase.

Extend the door windows and reduce the rear side window by 4”.

The photoshop has kept the rear window length and extended the chassis length.
