Re: Marina van front hub
It is 7/16” UNF. The 10cwt/575 nuts are Triumph part number 109586 - same as the steel wheels on Triumph 2000/2500 & Stag.

Re: Gearbox 1.8
All spigot bearings (1.3, 1.8, 1.7) have the same ID (0.50”) & OD (0.75”). Early cars Mk1s and some Mk2s had Oilite sintered bronze bearings. Later cars used a the needle roller bearing. The Oilite and needle roller bearings are inter-changeable and it looks like a previous owner has retro fitte...

Re: 1300 A Series Engine
The differences in the two numbers is too close to be a coincidence IMHO, I would say that somewhere along the line, the number has been mis-transcribed. The correct number should be on a plate riveted to the block on the right hand side (distributor & oil filter side). If the plate is missing t...

Re: 77 Marina keeps blowing rear lights
The main problem with the rear lights on Mk1s & Mk2s is usually the earthing, as the units earth through their mounting bolts. If there’s much rust the connection will be iffy and lead to spikes in the supply. Try running an earth lead from the car body to the metal rear light unit.

Re: MK1 sidelight/indicator units
They pop up on eBay regularly and a request on the Club Facebook page will probably turn some up.
If you want new units, they were installed (on opposite sides) on Triumph TR7s. Rimmer Bros list them. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID006225

Re: Cooling...
If you can squirt a little oil into the bores through the spark plug holes, you can check whether your compression problems are rings or valves. The oil helps seal the rings, so if you use the compression tester and the pressure goes up, then that indicates ring wear. If it makes no difference then ...

Re: Rear Leaf springs
There are a couple of companies that will make you up new springs and supply them with bushes. Brost Forge
Midland Road Springs
A quick Google will bring up their details.

Re: Introducing Myself
Welcome David, pop some pics up if you can. You’ll find that we know many of the cars and several of us on here have good used parts stashes, along with the other benefit of giving advice on the correct parts (and what other cars used them) and how to fit them.

Re: Headliner
The headlinings are significantly different as the sloping rear window makes the roofline slightly shorter and the C pillar is obviously a different shape of course. It might be worth finding a local trimmer to make one up using your existing headlining as a pattern.

Re: Lack of heat to windscreen
The central heater matrix and blower feeds into a plenum which has 4 outlets, each one has a stiff convoluted plastic hose, two run to the windscreen vents and two to the vents on the ends of the dashboard. They can dislodge themselves from either end, or may have been dislodged if someone has been ...

Re: Propshaft question / problem
Grease nipples - it’s about torque load on the UJ. The front UJ drives directly off the gearbox, with “raw” torque/power. On the Marina, the front section of the propshaft has a “Cush-drive”, it’s made up of two tubes with about an 3/4” difference in diameter, when fitted concentrically the gap is f...
