Great Chris,

I didn't think it would have worn out, just pribably fallen out and didn't know if this was a known problem- seems it is. If I take the boot off the end of the rack, I should be able to push it back in no?

Great stuff as always Chris, ended up changing the union and reflaring the existing pipe. The main reason for the fatiguing/ leaking was someone using a 1/4" union on a 3/16" pipe!

Right, my 76 1.3 has an awful habit of rattling loose the nut that holds the cable onto the starter motor... Normally making itself present with the ominous tick of the solenoid without the starter engaging. The nut is normally re tightened and off we go again for a good 3 weeks before it does it ag...

mystery solved then!

i have a pair of marina uprights loitering in the garage so i'll see if they fit- i suppose they'd be alright on my 1.3 deluxe then?

there may be, unfortunately they are in my parents garage, so i cant look now for a little while. i know they arent minor as i have one of those aswell as my marina!

i'll look for the part number next time i have them out

i bought these a little while ago with a job lot of marina parts. found them in the garage the other day while digging out other bits and pieces i dont think they are marina, but they are BL (according to the boxes) it would be helpful if anyone knows what they are, i have 5 of them! http://i1004.ph...

its not so much that it wont go into ger, more it is reluctant to. i think its probably worth further investigation anyway. while hes there he's going to replace the seal in the tail of the gearbox, which has been weeping for sometime. it would be strange if the clutch was stuck- it had done a near ...
