Re: Painting steering wheels - what paint?

Not sure if this has been covered before (i wasnt able to find using the Search?) My mk1 estate has a brown steering wheel that needs refurbishing due to numerous marks and scratches on the centre bar, the soft centre bar pad also needs attention as it has worn through to black in places. Does anyo...

Re: Bop 92k - back on the road

She'll come good, Steph, she's in the right hands, and you're on the right forum! Don't stress about mechanical issues, all easily sorted, and anything you get stuck on, just ask, you will definitely find the answer here. Looking forward to your next upload on BOP!

Re: Where was this filmed?

Thanks Gareth that’s perfect. Long time no speak mate, how are you and Nic keeping? Yeah, all good mate, thanks. The cars aren't doing so well though. Lots of welding needed on both of them and the gearbox needs replacing on PTH. I'm hoping to at least get one of them roadworthy for the nats, if it...

Re: no respect!

I remember a show here is Swansea a few years back when I had both Marinas on show. The Ford club was lined up right opposite with some seriously nice cars, twin cam this, bubble arch that, you know the scene, but guess who's cars were being swarmed by the crowd? yep, my Marinas. The Ford gang were ...

Re: Nolathane Steering Rack Bushes

It's worth checking the top ball joint too for play if you hear knocking from the steering. It can sound exactly the same as a worn steering bush. Something I need to do to my girlfriends car after I thought the bush slid out again but turns out to be the swivel pin knocking around in the top of the...

Re: Nolathane Steering Rack Bushes

Mary Morris - There is no bush at the right hand end of the rack as the rack rod as it rests directly in the pinion. However on the left hand end it has a nylon bush that breaks up overtime and poor road surface. What you describe is exactly the noise you get. Ahh i see, thanks for the Info :thumbu...

Re: Nolathane Steering Rack Bushes

Well, they're obviously full of sh*t then. They wouldn't change the colour just because they felt like it. They are definitely different. Either they won't admit to using a cheaper material or they have a problem with the dyes they're using, either way, these bushes are most certainly not the same f...

Re: MARINA 1.8 SALOON_UEX935L

I'd say most cars on the DVLA website that say last taxed before the sorn was introduced were scrapped years ago. A lot of my cars from the 90's and early 2000's are still registered as existing, but I know they don't because I broke most of them up myself. This was before there was sorn so just thr...

Re: Steering Rack Bushes

I've fitted both the older and newer versions. My girlfriends car has the later black type which I found needed two screws to hold it cos it slid out, apart from that I've had no issues. It's probably been at least three years since I fitted it and still sits in the rack and does it's job fine.

Re: Seat Belt Buckles

My girlfriends car has the box with inertia and my old red Marina used to have the same but with static belts, so they came in both versions. I have a box full of these, both static and inertia, but probably need re-webbing.
