Re: What oils are you folks using for your A series Marinas these days?

Formula 1 recycled mineral as a gap filler in all my ancient wonders like its still 1990!! Ah yes formula one oil, my now late neighbour used to use that stuff and then use the cans (plastic) with a hole cut in the side to then pick the oil up when it dripped out the sump, lol [emoji1787] Sent from...

Re: What oils are you folks using for your A series Marinas these days?

Yes, Steve is a good guy and I like to support him, even though he's a little more expensive than you might find online. Of course being an MG specialist he knows the A and B series engines inside out too. I'd far rather buy from him then if he has personal experience and a lot of it. Online seller...

Re: Someone save this 1973 Marina TC Auto, Please!

Your quite right PHUQ, I was just having a laugh ;) it obviously needs a whole back end welding, wheel arches, bootlid slam panel, etc etc. Rust has eaten this one alive sadly and to be honest I'm not convinced of the reliability of that Borg and Worner? Automatic gearbox. Id probably swap it for a ...

Re: Someone save this 1973 Marina TC Auto, Please!

It was originally for sale for £500, bought and offered for several thousand £ on eBay. It’s rare car, but my guess is that you’ll need £5000 for welding and a respray. I prefer them in their working clothes, myself. A bit of grey primer and a driveway resto type job is how I do things haha [emoji2...

Someone save this 1973 Marina TC Auto, Please!

Hi all Seen this on facebook, it looks in need of a bit of welding and a replacement bootlid and getting it running but surely this is a rare car that deserves to be saved? It's priced so low its in risk of being bought by the b@nger boys. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/210405427700041/?r...

Re: What oils are you folks using for your A series Marinas these days?

Opie Oils sell the Pistoneeze 20-50 for a good price on eBay with free 2 day postage. Or if you're in the Chesterfield area Steve Mckie sells it at his MG restoration garage, just off the bypass. It's a bit more expensive from there though. Ah I didn't know that was there, I'll take a look! Sent fr...

ScreamingLordStokes wrote:Cool, they do a full range of classic oils so you could also get your gear oil from the Millers range too.
I'll set up an account on their website then.

Re: What oils are you folks using for your A series Marinas these days?

I use Millers Classic Pistoneeze 20w-50 engine oil mainly because it's good quality and importantly it's a good old family owned Yorkshire company! Comma EP80w-90 GL4 in the gearbox and diff. Wilko sells the Comma gear oil. That looks like a nice tin tbh, and I'm more than happy to support a Yorksh...

What oils are you folks using for your A series Marinas these days?

Hi all I've got a Marina Haynes Manual for all 1098 and 1275 models from 71 to 80. It says in it that the marina uses 6 and a 1/2 pints of Castrol GTX Multigrade, but doesn't specify what particular grade, E.G 10W/40. Apologies if this is a daft question, im still learning lol :-D Same with the Axle...

What happened to this poor ex Rally coupe? :(

Found this on a Youtube video from 12 years ago or so. Was pretty rotten then so if still there probably completely beyond any redemption at all. Still some cool bits worth scavenging off it or at least there was!
