Re: Statistics

Thanks for the reply’s 👍 it was more on ruffly build numbers and how many TC coupes are known in the club. The last thing I want to do is pluck a number out of the air, I’d rather give them best guessed number built and survived

I have been lucky enough to be selected into the concourse De l'Ordinaire at the festival of the Unexceptionable next month at Clayton House and along with this they will be printing a pack of “top trump” playing cards of all the cars in this area. I have been asked a few questions about my TC Coupe...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Pretty much. Still a couple of areas that need tweaking, but we are good to go. It won't be up to your standard just yet but at least she is out and about now. We are meeting at the station between 9.15 and 10.00am on the Sunday. You can find all the details here: Buckfastleigh Show Safe journey. [/...

Membership card

I have hunter high and low for my current membership card with no luck. Will I need it for the nationals? If so would it be possible for it to be passed to a member that is attending? Tia

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Looking good Ben, got it dialled in now? I have spent the last few weeks checking, cleaning, checking again, double checking and cleaning! Looking forward to Sunday, we are driving down Saturday afternoon. What time is everyone thinking of getting to the show ground?

Re: MOT exemption

My MOT expired 18th March and the road tax April 2018. Just thought I’d take a look and see if the DVLA website had updated, it then informed me that my car is 40 years old or older and will not need a mot. The car is now taxed and insured so can now be used on the road!

MOT exemption

So with with the MOT exemption just around the corner for us with cars 40 or over, who are going to have yearly checks done at their local garage and who are going to trust their own work?

Re: Mk2 1.8 HL Automatic update

If you are still getting issue, have you thought the temp sendor maybe at fault? I had to change mine twice with N.O.S parts before the gauge was reading correctly. I have a electric cooling fan rigged with a temp switch in the top hose. When the original temp sendor failed I changed it and strait a...

It’s that time of year!

It’s come around to insurance time again, Footman James quote, £249 with breakdown? Last with Lancaster but I don’t want to go with them as they would agree with the value I submitted, they valued at £8500. Has anybody else noticed a hike this year or shall I continue to shop around?

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Washed mine on Sunday for the first time in 18 months, then took it for a drive in the sun and then tucked it back in the dry with the cover on. Probably the second time it has been washed with soapy water as it was very dusty and had a film on the out side. Will get a nice polish and service soon....

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic

Vinyl roof was only fitted to the last of the TC’s along with tinted glass, cloth seats with head rests and other bits and bobs. Being a very early TC I think you should have the painted roof 👍

Re: About to tackle the gearbox, anyone got any tips?

When you pop the gearbox back into the car, make the 2 bolts that go through the the sump into the bottom of the bell housing have the right washers on. If you leave either the flat or spring washed off, the bolts travel to far into the bell housing and touch the flywheel locking the engine up.
