For my four penneth - let's say that there are 600 owners of cars on the road (it's a guess) if we have 60 contributors, that means we have 10% online and interested in Marinas.

I think that that's probably all that we can expect. It's a smallish pond.

The registration plate colour isn't something new. The 1st January 1973 date was enforced back in the 1970s, I got warned back then at MOT time for having a black and white plate on a 1975 car. The regs come under the Vehicle Licensing legislation rather than the Road Traffic Act, so it wasn't endor...

Valve recession into the head will take 10s of thousands of miles. My 69,000 B series had sunken valves despite a lifetime on leaded fuel, it just happens faster without leaded fuel. I do recommend having your head converted (and the one on the car), I find that the biggest thing is that I can drive...

I have been checking up on the Mazda V6 - apparently it was launched in 1986 as the JE range. I don't know what year yours is, but it maybe the early ones were carbed so may yield a suitable inlet manifold.

OK

Useful comparison - this is a 1.3 Mk1 the front grille tells the engine size and the straight bumper the Mk. Only 1.8s have a rev counter. The very early ones have the windscren wipers pointing in the other direction and they park further up the windscreen.

The same question has been going through my mind for some time. Light, powerful and relatively low revving seems to be the way to go. The GM/Opel/Buick/Holden aluminium inline V6 would seem ideal. The European Omega/Aussie Commodore comes with manual and auto inline gearboxes. You'd need to create a...

Looks like you had a brilliant weekend. Well done - 26 cars great.

If you can write a story around it, I'll put it up on the clubwebsite as a Show Report.

Welcome Al, The Brian that you met was probably Brian Viney - his car is featured on the MMOC website at the moment. Brian has fitted a Dolly Sprint rear axle. BL Competitions evidently fitted a Dolly Sprint engine to a Marina and told the driver/navigator not to tell anyone on the rallies. Brian Cu...
