Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
That’s no good as an advert for selling the other radios Tony lol AM was rubbish in East Anglia with Smooth radio being just about the only music station I could pick up here, but then a few months ago Radio Caroline came back to AM with their transmitter on the Suffolk coast! Sent from my iPhone us...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
If it's possible to get them refurbished it would be worth doing as the early 1971 type ones are getting harder to find now.

Re: Brightwell classic auction
I don't know if its already been picked up on, but the blue 'TC' Coupe is clearly modified and not just cosmetically. It should be a 1300 or a 1700 It's a MK3 so 1300 only  Looks like they made decent money, Suntors seem a little cheap though. I wrongly assumed everything in this sale would g...

Re: Marina for a (nearly!) 18 year old?
Insurance and tax will both be more expensive for a 1.7 than a 1.3. My first car was a 1.8 back in 2011, I was fortunate enough to get classic insurance in my first year as Footman James did a scheme for young classic drivers, sadly they then stopped that and I had trouble insuring it the next year ...

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic
Should have 155 tyres on an early 1.8
BL did issue a special revised trunnion for early TCs and they were recalled to have them fitted. Seems like quite a few slipped through the net though.

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic
There's no 'originality guide' as such, when it comes to early cars I guess I am one of the 'originality advisers' though  I haven't seen it in the flesh so this is only from photos. I can say if you want to turn it into a TC Coupe which looks just as it did when it rolled off the line in late ...

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic
The original colour was Blaze. It is possible to fit later trunnions onto early legs, it does result in a hell of a lot of negative camber though so the shock absorbers need to be spaced out to suit. So it's possible it has also been fitted with later legs and shock absorbers. Clutch judder can be c...

Re: 71 TC Coupe on Car and Classic
Harry Hayes completely 'restored' the car back in the early 90s. He's still about in the Marina world. The story goes he discovered after the shell had been painted whilst he was fitting the doors that one door wouldn't fit, and that one side had been pushed back. I believe he cut a strip off one of...

Re: Is this Car Known?
Yes I believe it belongs to a company who supplies cars for filming, it has appeared in quite a few programmes. It used to be a Teal Blue car with an early front valance used in historic rallying before it became a later Harvest Gold car....

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Yeah definitely sounds like the dynamo is a bit weak, when you're moving it should cope with the load fine. Obviously for daily use an alternator is more ideal, but you know what I'm like...!

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
There's something wrong with your charging system or your battery then, as if it's used everyday there should be no problems with a dynamo. You can get these which look like a dynamo but are an alternator inside, although they don't come cheap... http://www.powerlite-units.com/about-dynalites/ You c...

Re: Coupe Rear Screen Rubber
As with the fronts the stainless and plastic trim should both fit. BL only had one type of screen rubber on MK1 cars but the Deluxes had the plastic chrome insert from launch.
