Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Ordered up some new number plates for Eileen the Ital, gone for period-correct black on white/yellow raised riveted with bevelled edge plates. Excellent- although it bugs me when people whinge about incorrect style number plates on cars (it's up to the owner what they want so far as I'm concerned),...

Re: Marina TC salvaged from a farmer's paddock in NZ
I love how farmers don't scrap their old vehicles but just abandon them in a field. It's a useful trait, especially if you are looking for parts for a Land Rover- not so much now the values have skyrocketed but a few years back you'd have a good chance of finding what you needed in a local hedgerow...

Re: Wipers
Agree with David in that wheel boxes are the most likely candidates. You might improve things a little by taking the wipers off, withdrawing the wiper rack from the wiper motor end, turning the two wheelboxes through 180 deg. and reinserting the rack- the wheelboxes wear over the arc of travel so in...

Re: Correct Oil Filter
Always a sensible precaution regardless of non return valve effectiveness. Of course if you have a mechanical fuel pump and twin SUs this safety feature is built in due to the time it takes for it to refill the float bowls...

You do pick 'em Gareth! That said- the yellow Coupe is lovely (underseal tidemark excepted). And it at least sounds like you'll get some cake out of the deal...

Unstuck the clutch! As mentioned, up in jack stands, in 4th and accelerated with the clutch pedal depressed and ping! Also wax oiled under the front wings etc Mot here we come Glad it worked! My Mk2 would do it all the time, two weeks in a dry barn was enough- Mud never did, even when standing outs...

Welcome to the forum! I do like the way that car sits, quite fancy a Mk3 estate set up in a similar manner myself.

Re: Marina spotted in Worthing west Sussex!!!!!!!!!
I had some weirdo knock on my mate's door all excited because he'd seen my Marina outside...
I've only ever seen one in the wild that doesn't belong to the aforementioned weirdo (hi Ian) or isn't on it's way to/ from a show the club is attending, which was a white estate somewhere near Sidmouth.
