Re: Front Door Seals - Recommendations Please

East Kent are the best. My girlfriend got some for the front. They do have the moulded corner but still have to cut to length. Don't buy the ones on eBay, I bought one and it's an awful fit.

Haha, it's possible! Mind you, Porsche 911 looks very similar.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Nah, definitely not Triumph 2000. The trim I have sits in the rubber, the 2000 looks wider and seems to sit on the rubber looking at the pic. The mystery go's on  The trim is almost identical to the Marina rear window in size and profile but it's not as wide in the rubber, like the later plasti...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Cheers Alex. The Volvo trim looks as wide as the Marina trim, not sure it's that. I thought maybe Allegro but the Allegro trim is identical to the Marina except for the profile, so that can be ruled out. I'm thinking Triumph, maybe Spitfire.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Does anyone know what car this window trim is for?

It's not Marina, though it is similar width and hight but is much skinnier. It was with some spares I picked up the other day but I don't know what it is for. It's in good nick so decided to keep it.

Re: VIBRATION

Probably the prop shaft. Mine rumbles but only when changing gear, I have to let the engine rev a little higher than normal before changing gear but is fine at speed. I have a 1.3 gearbox if you need one. It's unknown condition but the guy I got it from said it was good. He was a genuine guy so have...

That's the way, collect the bits over time. No stress then when you get the head back

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Indeed, though my words were a little stronger! Next time you get a lead on a rusty engine, Matt, don't call me, I'll call you  The guy selling the engine was a nice chap. We had a good time pulling it apart. Finding the oil looking more like blocks of clay and one of the cylinders full to the ...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Yes, it was very bad. It had sat outside since 1987! The guy messaged me the day before, saying it might not be worth me calling as he had a good look at it and realized it was worse than he thought. Not sure if the con rods are any good, they're seized pretty fast to the pistons, plus I hammered th...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Stripped the engine I picked up yesterday. The pistons were seized in but managed to get them out, just! Timing chain was rusted to the timing gear and sprocket and the front plate had holes in it. The only thing I could save from this was the block, cam and crank and few odd bits. Cylinder head can...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Went up to look at that engine in Llandysul today. It's basically a lump of rust in the shape of an engine! The block and crank look worth keeping maybe, not sure about the cylinder head though. Manifold seems ok too. Everything else is scrap. Had some odd bits thrown in too. Front and rear windscre...

Re: Prop Shaft Troubles

If you are going to do the work yourself, fine. However, if you are using a propshaft refurb company make sure they are OK using the UJs that you buy, the place I used insisted on using UJs from their own stock as they didn't trust the UJ I supplied ( even though it was a brand new GKN one). ok, th...

Re: Prop Shaft Troubles

Very likely. The measurements are 2.382 for the cup and 6.130 joint diameter, Dolomite is same. Same as Morris 8, 10, and 12 apparently.

Re: Prop Shaft Troubles

I can't find anything when typing in those part numbers or the one with a grease nipple, but plenty of the sealed for life ones around. Same as Hillman Hunter and Avenger.
