Re: Bop 92k - back on the road
I dont understand someone running car dry of oil!! Shows the importance of at least having the oil light working this will flash on during cornering and braking as oil moves around in the sump when you get momentry oil starvation due to low oil level. I did notice on the head gasket video she cleane...

Re: Lowering blocks
I had to fit lowering blocks to my Coupe as when I fitted new springs ( bought off ebay) rear of car was far to high. I used Escort ones had to alter hole in centre of block and drill out spring plate from 3/8 inch to 10 mm. have now got to make up some blocks to go between top shock absorber and bo...

Re: Classic Tyres
Crossplies were awful thinks my dad had a New HB Viva fitted with them it was dangerous and were changed to radials in a few hundred miles made it a different car then. He kept it for many years finally changing it for a HC and wanted to swap the HB wheels to the HC but they were 12 inch, the HC had...

Re: Classic Tyres
Marina front suspension geometry makes more sense for crossply tyres. I personally 185/55/R15 evergreen tyres on Minilite wheels they had to be spaced I think 3-5 mm to give me clearance for the wheel rim on the top ball joint and track rod end. I also have a Ital telescopic setup using Shrepa spec ...

Re: Brake servo - replace or repair?
A late Sherpa LDV cylinder will fit, but again bore is larger/. Which will mean less pedal travel but also less brake pressure as brake hydraulic pressure is inversely proportional to mater cylinder bore size.

Re: Differences between the Marina and MGB B series engine?
Well that.s the million dollar question? My opinion is if you havent seen and heard it running you have a very expensive cast iron paperweight! If it turns out to be anything else you have a bonus. I would not personally buy a used engine sight unseen expecting anything else but needing a rebuild an...

Re: Differences between the Marina and MGB B series engine?
I would be very cautious about buying a used engine. I would actually like to see and hear it running, you then know what you have actually got. It is a awful lot of work to fetch and fit a engine that you have bought on the computer only to find it isnt any better than the one you have already got....

Re: Steering issue
If Track rods are different sizes i would assume the track rod end would be a different part. Bump steer is usually caused by wear in the system or bad design the rack ball joint should run in a imaginary line drawn through the centre of the upper and lower arms. The track rod lengths will will depe...
