Re: Marina rear axle bump stops

I bought Minor ones for my coupe but the Marina axle tube was to larger diameter for them to fit. However I was lucky to still have my rubbers so i sandblasted the brackets and rebonded rubbers with Terroson 9220 they are still stuck fast after three years.

Re: Rear brake shoe spring

Not vital the part number is 37H3076 used on some Triumph's but part number with be different though. You have the brake springs on wrong though the one with the straight bit in middle of spring should line up with rubber boot on wheel cylinder.

Re: Wheel cylinders - repair or replace

I am mot a big believer in resealing master and wheel cylinders as something caused the seals to fail in first place so at least honing bore before re sealing 5/8 single piston wheel cylinders were used on a lot of cars in the 70/80s as such some decent quality parts are available from reputable sup...

Leave nut on thread tighten puller and wack end of puller bolt it will then pope odd taper without flying across the workshop. Pullers can be bought on ebay for about £60 usually listed as for Triumph Herald and Spitfir...

Re: Other axle questions

Yes holding tool is the correct thing to use and tightening pinion nut back to exactly where it came from not to disturb the pinion preload over tightening will render collapsable spacer useless the best way is to centre punch the pinion nut and pinion so marks can be lined up when refitting the bes...

Re: Fuel Tank sender units

There is no Oxygen inside a fuel tank hence no combustion. Fuel vapour is heaver than air and expands more when warm so the air including the Oxygen is pushed out of the fuel tank breather. Almost without exception modern cars the electric fuel pump runs inside the fuel tank the fuel also cools this...
