Downrating wheel cylinders

Post by blueplasticsoulman » Fri Jun 15, 2018 7:38 pm

I hope i don't offend any Marina owners/lovers by asking a question about Marina running gear on my kit car. However, i reckon if anywhere has the knowledge, then it's probably a Marina forum.

It's likely i'll need to downrate the wheel cylinders on my '73 based NGTF kit car and i need to change to dual line brakes for the SVA. Will cylinders from a 1.3 Marina fit the 1.8? The bore size being just over 2mm smaller which should be about right i think.

Thanks alot if anyone can help.

All Marina & Ital Saloon, Coupe, Estate cars used the same rear axle casing and brake shoe backplates, so all Marina & Ital rear brake slave cylinders are interchangeable. In the first two years BL changed the bore size three times so you should have some choices. Other cars with the same brake cylinders include late Triumph Spitfires, TR7 (4 speed only) and Triumph Dolomite (not Sprint), so you should have plenty of choices via the usual Triumph suppliers.
