LCB TC exhaust in stainless

Post by balmy » Sun Aug 21, 2011 11:47 am

As per my 'readers project' thread I am ( well Barmy is actually  ) hoping to 'cut and shut' an MGB LCB exhaust to fit a TC.

I understand they don't clear the fuel pump and sit too low but hopefully we can alter to fit around both problems :D The idea then is to use it as a template to have one made up in stainless.

My question is: I would like one made up in stainless and to make it more viable I wondered if anyone else would be interested in one? I thought if we could get a few orders it will make it cheaper to say make 10 rather than just one.

If anyone is interested please post below and I will see what I can do...........

Could be interested but with a side exit exhaust, my pipe takes a tight route from the standard twin exit pipe.

Rough dimensions of the outlet of the pipe relative to some fixed point on the engine/bell bousing will help. For me the further forward the better.

I can ask the guy who made up my system if you want? He'll need a steel version to work from though.

I understand (but it would be best to check) that the angle on the MGA and some MGB versions of the LCB misses the fuel pump, not sure how deep it is though. This is the Moss Europe Special Tuning MGB version, I think that the line from the front exhaust port would miss the fuel pump.

Particularly when you compare it to the PECO version in red below.

Ok. Rather later than planned but I’ve now got a genuine Marina LCB manifold to copy.
Anyone interested in one if I can get it copied and a few made?

Yep I'm interested. Mine has a knackered 3 branch at the moment. Was going to get an MGB one and cut it about but a bolt on option is always easier!

Thanks Josh. Plan is to get numbers. Then a price, then a deposit off everyone before going ahead.
