Marina / Ital Census

Re: Marina / Ital Census
I`ve put the one I owned in the 1980s on- it`s still on the DVLA information page as out of tax and no MOT history so probably scrapped unless it`s hiding somewhere....
(I had a problem when completing so I may have put the car on twice- if you need to unravel what ever comes out on your end please PM me and I`ll try and advise).
Update- where can I find the census to have a look at what`s on there? I have looked around the site and not found it- happy to be pointed in the right direction. Thank you. Update 26.06.15- found it by searching on a VRN.

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Two more added.
One borrowed DVLA no MOT details tax due 01.01.87 suggest it`s gone; one hired in tax due 13.04.88 no MOT details so probably gone too.
I did find the census somewhere on here but can`t now- has it been taken down? Update- found it by searching on a VRN.
Thank you.

Another TC Found!
I have a guy coming to me this Saturday to buy some of my remaining panels who is restoring/saving, as was about to be scrapped,
a 72 Black Tulip TC 4 door (red interior) which had sat in a garage for quite some time near to me.
He's not a club or forum member and I've asked him to bring some evidence of the car for this survey
His passion is generally Austin 11/1300 and Cambridges etc.
Will try and post some pix at the weekend.

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Pics from guy today. One family owned and a full history file.
Was on Brookside as a gangsters car! Youtube scanning now required.
Chassis no in the 150,000's and a genuine TC.Autobox.
I notice a label on the windscreen that may suggest it previously being in the club perhaps?
Currently not though. I have pointed him in the right direction of course.
Was going to have its engine and box possibly took out for a cambridge.
Luckily the chap tasked with doing this saved it instead!

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Done :-) what is the latest count? Does anyone know?
Re: Marina / Ital Census
Added 2, sadly no longer around now but for nostalgia: my very first car a 73 1.3 Coupe in Masons Black (originally Harvest Gold) and my Dad's 77 four dour in Aqua (originally Brooklands green)
Re: Marina / Ital Census
Appreciate that this is a mammoth task, especially as the BL records were mostly lost. I was wondering if the results as they stand are planned for addition to the forum, in the same way as the Ultimate Register is:
index.php?option=com_content&view=artic ... ea&lang=en
Thanks for doing this. It may well be the only archive of Marinas and Itals that exists?

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Bit confused. I was looking for the Marina/Ital Census and when I click the link under the intro message, it just takes me back to the Board Index.
Re: Marina / Ital Census
Is there any info you want in particular? The register has grown a massive amount, sadly it can't all be made public as some people have given reg and chassis numbers in confidence.

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Actually I was looking to upload details on mine, or wondering if it was already there seeing as the last owner was a MMOC member too. And also wondering what sort of info you were after.
Re: Marina / Ital Census
As much info as possible- all the build records were destroyed so the database I have put together is sadly the most comprehensive record we have. I have checked and NNN is in there, I have the chassis number and an incomplete engine number, missing the body number. It would have been added from the old Club records judging by the date I inputted it into the register, sadly the old database didn't record when the data was entered so not sure how long it might have been in the Club.
I have photos of another Jade HL, LMK 579P also registered in April 76 so probably from the same batch as yours. Not got a chassis number for it. Yours is the second oldest surviving HL I have on record (pending a chassis number from LMK!)

Re: Marina / Ital Census
Is LMK a manual? The 'take it with a pinch of salt' How Many Left records indicate only two Mk2 HL automatics (pause) In The World, none even on SORN, though that obviously cannot include ones that might be overseas. SGU is now an HL auto, but didn't start out that way.
I must admit the engine number details on the Passport To Service booklet for NNN look a bit fudged in biro. What format are the details supposed to appear as, can you give me an example so I can compare? Your intro to the census also mentions recording Marinas that are no more. I've frequently mentioned my old KRB 158P, which I was very fond of, but apart from the reg number, date of registration, colours which are obvious from photos and model type (Mk1 1.8 Super automatic) I have no other details to offer, I'm afraid.

Re: Marina / Ital Census
I only have details of two auto HLs, yours and RAY241R. I now have the numbers for LMK and it is a little bit earlier than yours, only by a couple of thousand.
The engine number from my J reg is 18V 247EH 691, it should be on a small metal plate on the block, on the side where the dizzy and oil filter is.
Not sure I have seen any photos of your old one. If you could stick some up I'll add them to the archive (and the car). I have three databases in total- one in chassis number order (different spreadsheets for saloons/coupes, estates, commercials, Austin Marinas and Maltese Marinas as they had different numbers) and one for cars I don't have a chassis number for (which again divides up into the body types and is the current ongoing project) and a photographic database which will one day feed into the spreadsheets...
Currently have about 1500 vehicles with chassis numbers and about the same without. So 3000 out of over a million...!
