Damn, that is disappointing, was a very quick sale - I only saw it late last night. Must mean the blue one is the one that's meant for you and will be coming your way shortly...

Yeah, cars looking good alright, although I've hardly had a chance to look at it since it arrived on Saturday, but very pleased indeed. Brakes seem to have freed off pretty well and just a few minor things to sort for mot like flasher unit and wash wipe not working, also choke sticking open. Everything underneath still seems very solid indeed and only real concern is how it bangs and jumps out of reverse gear - just worried it's been driven into a garage where the clutch has then seized and someone's damaged it somehow trying to reverse it out. Don't suppose I'll be having to reverse through the mot centre though so no worries!

Just found this picture and write up online -

"1972 MORRIS MARINA 1.3 SUPER IN BLACK TULIP
My passion for Morris Marinas started in 1973 when I purchased a Teal Blue 1.3 Coupe Reg No EIJ 2601. This was followed in 1975 by a 1.3 Four Door Super in Brooklands Green. Still staying with British Leyland I purchased a Maxi 1500 in 1977 and returned to Marinas in 1978 buying a Sandglow 1.8 four door model

Here my interest in British Leyland cars ended until in 1996 I found the original sales display used by WH Alexander Ltd in their premises in Victoria Street Belfast.

I had made numerous attempts to purchase several Marinas on EBay but without success.

In July 2005 I was introduces to DIJ 2802 a local car in original condition with 64000 miles on the clock. The car has never been welded or painted and the interior is excellent.

On my first outing to a local event at Mount Stewart in County Down I bumped into the salesman who sold the car to its original owner.

Earlier this year I decided that the crazed and watermarked paintwork required attention so a re spray was arranged which restored the appearance of the car to its original bright appearance.

I have taken the car on several car runs and heads have turned as it travelled through the roads of County Antrim.

Performance is as I remember it in the days of the 1970’s ,good running with a little bit of over and under steer. The use of radial tyres has helped to reduce this problem."

Only ever seen this car once myself, 9 years ago at a local show, and didn't get to meet the owner. Same car (and owner) was entered in same show earlier this year, but wasn't there on the day. Maybe whenever I get my new Coupe sorted I'll try and get in touch and go visiting :-)

Just thought I'd update this thread with a couple of cars that have been advertised for sale here recently.

Mk1 1.3, GOL 564L.

Mk3 1.3.

Think the purple one is still for sale, don't know about the blue one.

This one's lying in a scrapyard here, 1.7.

Was intending to get some bits off it maybe - doors, clocks, seats perhaps, whatever else. Can see about any bits anyone might be interested in that could be posted?
