That's normally what happens with me, I'm awkward like that ;).

Out of interest, where abouts is it leaking?

I have a spare tank if you are stuck, no known leaks, but I haven't tested it.

Well, after about 4 months of neglect, work has started again on this one (now called Rusty; for obvious reasons ).

On Friday 20th, my brother and I removed the entire interior to begin welding very soon. We just need to plump in the gas to the welder and we’re all set up. After this, it’s just the job of making the plates/nicking panels from the donor car and welding them on with the NOS panels I have.

Today, we managed to get the engine out (think it has the wrong clutch????) so we can start rebuilding it. We also had enough time to start taking the brake pipes off before it got dark.

The day time job is to now complete all welding (a huge task) and night time job is to rebuild the engine . Really trying to get this one done before the Nationals so I have two running cars ;).

Enjoy the piccys (there would be more but they corrupted on my phone which was helpful),

Alex

Should have the small 6.5 inch clutch with a 1 inch slave cylinder. Looks like you are making good progress!

I did think it was the wrong clutch but wasn't sure. Got an early one to go back on it anyhow. Surprisingly we have done a lot in a couple of days. Hopefully I'll get it done in time Gareth, although it's going to be close to the wire.

We managed to get my brother's welder fixed today and started cutting one of the wings off before it got dark, so a little more progress.

Evening all,

More progress made on VGV over the last couple of days. Got the propshaft and gearbox off ready for paint once they have been cleaned up. Also managed to get both front wings off along with the front lights and indicators. We need to do a bit of welding on the front where the wings go and weld on new headlamp panels before re-attaching the wings and also need to repair/tidy up the front valance but all that shouldn't take too long once we have a bit of sun.

I think we're making good progress and if we keep the pace we have, should get to the Nationals with it :-D.

Good progress there Alex, especially considering we're in the depths of winter! Looking forward to seeing it get glued back together :)

Thanks Matt. We're definitely feeling the cold here but are given tea/hot chocolate every hour or so and have to get it MOTed by 1st July so can't hang about ;). Once we get the last couple of panels we can begin the reassembly :D. Going to be awesome :D
