Plug lead length A Series and B Series.

Post by mickthefitter » Tue Apr 25, 2017 5:26 pm

Does anyone with multiple Marinas happen to know if a set of plug leads differs in length between an A Series and B Series engine? Since I need some ignition spares for my 1.8 and still have an active account with Mini Spares, I've decided to buy the dizzy cap, new points etc. from them but also thought some new plug leads wouldn't hurt, but Mini suppliers obviously only do the A Series. Logically I would think B Series leads need to be longer, but it can't be by much so I wondered if suppliers bother to tailor leads so precisely? Also I wondered if anyone had a preference over type of lead. In the 80s when I started mending cars, I thought copper cores were meant to be the bees knees, but my mate with the motorbikes says silicone carbon, which is what the old leads are (Sparkplus brand).

They're smaller. I bought some by accident from an autijumble but couldn't fit.

Thank you. I'll source my leads from somewhere else then. Cheers

Mick try one of the MGB suppliers LeacyMG for example.
