It’s that time of year!
It’s come around to insurance time again, Footman James quote, £249 with breakdown? Last with Lancaster but I don’t want to go with them as they would agree with the value I submitted, they valued at £8500. Has anybody else noticed a hike this year or shall I continue to shop around?
Re: RE: It’s that time of year!
Mines due shortly. I'll be doing a twin policy with the Escrot. I'll keep you posted. Although Lancaster have quoted a similar price to yours for both of mine.Chicken Hawk wrote:It’s come around to insurance time again, Footman James quote, £249 with breakdown? Re: It’s that time of year!
£153 is nice but £76 would be nicer! I think it depends on where you live and where the car is kept. Mine is on a driveway and I use mine everyday for work, even use it for work sometimes.

Yeah it does depend on where you live. One of the reasons it's cheap where I live is that there aren't really any people who'd nick your car because there aren't really any people!

Yeah it's the kind of place where people don't really bother to lock things, so living here does have it's advantages, another one of them being I'll never be short of space to park another Marina

Re: It’s that time of year!
I'm with Peter James, unlimited mileage including commuting for about £120 on the Land Rover (which must be about the most stolen vehicle in the country). Must get the Marina back on there thinking about it.

Re: It’s that time of year!
Got mine sorted yesterday with Lancaster. £151.00 for both. Legal protection 30 quid extra.
Marina valued at 5k and Ezzy at 2k. Comp.
I also asked about their historic MOT policy.
As long as the car doesn't legally need an MOT.. then
they're not bothered. It's up to me whether I get an MOT or not. T

Re: It’s that time of year!
I am convinced, so far, that if you don't fill in the form for MoT exemption, your car still needs to be submitted for an annual MoT. Which depending on whether you consider MoT exemption a good thing or a bad thing, i.e. shall I continue to get my car examined? Begs the question - do I exempt it or not? Because for all the talk about proposed 'classic MoTs' or 'classic only inspections' (in the press) nobody really seems to have a plan. I think I'll have a chat with my local classic-sympathetic MoT guy before I make a decision with my own Marina.Gee tc wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 10:58 pm Got mine sorted yesterday with Lancaster. £151.00 for both.
