Nothing to do with fuel consumption my ar$e, you forget the reason people drove marina's in the first instance, i.e. they were tight as a gnats chuff, & anything requiring more than a 30 mile return trip from the west midlands was vetoed by Norbert Colon!.EL Presidente IOW wrote: As far as i can recall, most of the shows were in the south in the past because that was where we always had the best turn-outs Russ, fuel had nothing to do with it  , and if you remember the last MMOC National was organised by Paul in the NORTH, Having decided to make it fair for everyone by rotating the national, this year it will be in the WEST Country, so i trust we will see your cheery faces in the sunny westcountry in the summer chaps!
As for Northern shows, Temple Newsham 1992, was visited by softie southerners, who wanted to get their cars on the Telly, they then required a nice lie down in a darkened room when they realised how much they had spent getting there.
Hope this helps clarify the situation, & the reason I left the fold in the first place!
Brian.
