The official pages are the ones to go for as I check them out frequently and lurk around here most days.
As the NW club rep I post events and pics on FB firstly as it reaches a bigger audience thereby drumming up support both for the club and venues.
I also found my current marina through this forum.
The 2019 Nationals went well possibly because of this but I was mindful that a lot of our members and supporters don't do one or the other. Usually a copy and paste helped.
Ill do the same for my upcoming event in November.
I will say that we need a 2021 events thread on here please Ben.

The nice thing is.....you can have both, forums have died off a bit the last few years....but there is so much knowledge and information stored on them, I hope they both carry on.

I guess with Facebook its instant and covers a multitude of sins!

Having joined facebook about three weeks ago I have today found my account has been disabled. I have no idea why. Apparently it is something to do with not up holding "community standards" but I have yet to post anything! All I have done since signing up is to join the clubs disscusion page, the marina fan club page and the marina/ital enthusiasts page. I have yet to make a post on any of them or a post of any kind so how can I have gone wrong. I have had to request a review of the situation but don't have any way of telling them that I haven't posted anything at all yet. I now have to wait between 48 hrs and 45 days for them to decide if I am guilty of breaking their rules. Maybe Marinas and Itals are below their standards.

I only have Facebook account to allow me to save Candy Crush progress. So far that's all I have found it useful for!
Never post on it. I also have Whatsup but again not really used it.
But I do have to say, I still use a mobile as a phone and text device and only for emergency as I don't like any sort of telephone. They always ring when you don't want them to ;-)
Oh and I own a 1973 Marina, bring back the good old days.

Facebook police can be very annoying, with people having their accounts closed for the most ridiculous reason, or non at all, I had mine closed just like that, they said I had broken the guidelines but not which one, so now I keep a low profile.

You can of course set up a new one if you wanted....
