4speed manual gearbox rebuild

my mk1`s gearbox is in need of some tlc, synchros are shot and bearings need changing, ive never done a gearbox before, is it straight forward enough? or should I get someone to do it? if the latter, does anyone know of a place it can be done in devon?

He helped me out with a diff just before JOGLE and seemed to know his old stuff well ( once he’d had a little chortle about me driving a Marina from JOG to LE in 24 hours! )
He’ll be getting some of my spare gearboxes soon

gave him a shout, going to get my gearbox over to him as soon as i can, might be later rather than sooner, as yesterday was my wifes due date for our first baby. so might have to postpone it a little.
