Polyurethane bushes

Has any one else tried fitting polyurethane bushes to the front suspension eye? The one that mounts the lower arm to the chassis.
The bushes I have (Superpro?) have a substantial shoulder on either end making it pretty much impossible. With other cars that I have used this type of aftermarket bush on they have been split - that is you insert them in two halves, one from either side.

Cheers, Robin

Yes I have them on my Coupe. I left them in very hot water for a good half an hour and I used some of the assembly grease inside the eye to make it slipperier.

I then got some threaded stud and nuts, together with two big and thick penny washers. One washer goes behind the bush and the other on the opposite side of the eye bolt. The stud goes through the bush and eye. Then I progressively tightened the nuts down and it pulls the bush into and then through the eye.

Thanks Chris
I'll try that. I have used that method before on orher occaisions but the bushes felt so rigid I just couldn't see it working. I think I probably need to warm them up more....
Cheers Robin

Kelvin has detailed photos of how he did it in his Full circle into a Marina again. My 73 Morris Marina Coupe thread.

Thanks all

In the end, much to my surprise, it proved easy. I used the threaded bit from an old 3 leg puller which has an acme thead (better for pulling than a normal thread)
Soaked in very hot water first and plenty of the supplied grease.
