CAR INSURANCE

Post by paul » Fri May 29, 2015 7:40 pm

Has anyone got any recommendations for a classic car insurance that is not limited to the 3000 miles per year?
I have a daily driver marina camper and my milage has shot up since it now my only vehicle, still under 10000 miles but way over 3000!

Lancaster Insurance had me down for 10,000 miles a year on my Marina. I have reduced it now to save a bit on the cost.

I'm with Peter James, very helpful on the 'phone and were very competitive. Was only something daft like £20 to go from 3000 miles to unlimited mileage, and commuting (to a single place of work) was included for nowt.

I’m currently looking at insurance for my two Marinas. Has anybody got a policy that would cover the two classics and me to drive any other car third party?
I’m a named driver on my sons policy that is the family daily driver. I do look after other family members car’s taking them for mots etc,so really needed the drive any other car 3rd party.

Thanks

I'm with Lancaster.
I'm currently insuring 3 cars with them on a multicar policy. Cheaper than insuring two last year!
You get a discount for being a car club member too.
3k limited miles and sdp & commuting allowed as long as you also own a main use daily modern.
Keen priced and good service.
They featured my own car on last November's monthly newsletter when MMOC was Club Of the Month!

Well I tried Lancaster, took me three attempts to get through ,on the third attempt somebody answered, but couldn’t answer my question, then tried to get me through to somebody else. On hold for a while, and then informed they would ring back. I’m still waiting three days later.
Oh well!

After a little nudge from the club (thanks Chris) they have called back. It is something they can do but the two cars would have to be on separate policies. More detail to follow.

All of my insured cars are on separate policies. Seems to work well and be no more costly.
Where as my bikes are in one policy which works equally well.

Just changed to Peter James for both cars £265.00. One free upgrade was unlimited mileage as I’m a club member. Thought I’d support them as they are supporting our club.
