Random Marina Van spotting
I admit it, I'm a citroenist at heart, I've owned well over 50, and my favourite is the BX, don't ask me why, but I find them lovely to drive and nice to look at, although some Citroen people are rather eccentric!!
One such guy is Nick, who lives in Loughborough, and has a rather eclectic mix of cars, parts, memorabilia and anything that's collect able basically. He's an old
Boy in his late 70s, and owned a garage until 10 Years ago. I counted 5 Renault 5 vans amongst many.
We got chatting and I mentioned I had just bought a Marina, and he walked me to the back of his house and down a path to a one of many sheds and lean too. Hey presto 1 1979 Marina van in brown which he bought from the local environmental agency in 1984 (hasn't moved since 1988) and 1 mk1 Bonnet possibly in tundra?
He has lots of Marina parts somewhere..,

With side windows? Poor old gal, probably the consistency of a rotten pear underneath.

Apparently it drove there, the headlamps have since fell out!, its loaded to the gunnels with stuff inside, he's a hoarder! Sadly he's the sort not to part with anything and when he buys a car he keeps it.

I used to have GS's in the late 70s, great cars. I always wanted an Estate.

Where did all these cars go? I remember the roads full of Metro's and BX's! The BX was one of the first cars I did a service on.. I still have some of the old work sheets here of the cars I worked on
Not sure if it's just me but I think Citroen was at it's peak when they were making the CX and the BX. Wonderful cars!
