Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
I still pop in, but don't have a lot to post myself and there isn't usually a lot new to read here. Can definitely agree forums are 100% better than facebook for information. Most of my time on here I spent reading and searching old threads. Facebook is just about instant gratification.

Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
I have a set of these little clamps, they've come in pretty handy. They have a rubber stopper on one end

Re: Converting a 4 speed gearbox to a 5 speed (1800)
OK Left field.
But years ago Commercial operators used to fit auxiliary boxes in the transmission to lower the revs at the diff (or indeed speed up by reversing the box). The auxiliary would be engaged by a switch on the dash, so presume electric solenoid engaged?
Presumably this was before, or a ...

Re: Gearboxes
This is a quick synopsis, others I’m sure will fill in the gaps.
Gearbox casing (known as the single rail gearbox) shared with late Spitfire (Mk4 & 1500), also the inline Toledos and the Dolomite (1300, 1500 & 1850), also early 4 speed TR7s.
The Marina/Ital 1300 version has a 7/8” diameter input ...

Does this mean more progress soon?locost_bryan wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 2:55 am Just realized it's been 18 months since the last time I started Ozzy. Flooded first attempt, and took a fair bit of cranking before he finally fired up. Running very rough, probably needs fresh fuel.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
On a side note the resilience of the A series in that it still works, even when worn, is an advantage. Only had to sort one when oil consumption could be calculated as low miles to the pint; driven carefully wasn’t noticeable, accelerate hard and there was an shall we say emission of haze ...

Re: Hazards work, indicators don't?
My Mk3 Marinas have a complex switch that is responsible for allowing hazard lights to operate via two separate flasher units.
The sheer number of contacts within the switch mean that usually after operating it, weird symptoms are experienced when trying to use normal indicator functions ...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Started it for the first time since Feb, so I could drive it up the drive and spin it around. Now I can finally work on finishing the rust work and then start the fun stuff; reassembly and then putting it on the road again.

Re: New Club Mag
That's interesting Chris, not seen one of those before. Is that BL admitting that the original Marina clutch slave fitment was a bit of Ill conceived design then?
Interestingly, the Aus spec cars had a factory fitted slave cylinder that had the circlip like the Moprod ones. So much easier to ...

Re: Distributor options
I have a Powerspark distributor in my 1750 Aussie TC, was customised by them to suit my requirements. I gave them the advance curve specs from the standard Australian Lucas 29D distributor, told them my cam timing and the standard cam timing, and they came back with the right curve. Has had the ...

Depends if he’s got the metal pipe from leg to caliper.
Yeah, nah I'm stuffed on that one. Flex and hard-line join through the upright.
I've heard of someone making an "adaptor" that bolts to the upright and holds the pipe join instead, so you can unbolt the bracket from the upright without ...
