Congrats on getting such a great looking Marina, hard to believe it's never seen a road since 1978, thats a long time for a car to be off the road! My dad had a coupe the same age and colour in 1983 and it was ROTTEN, bits of it fell off when you shut the doors, but it ran well, a crack appeared in ...

It’s always best to concentrate on 1 on 2 cars max rather than having a fleet of cars as this is when some end up getting neglected. I’ve been there in the past and don't fancy going down that road again :)

I can vouch for that, we've 5 classics, the Marina, the Escort, the Alpine ...

Just reading some of the posts, what planet is this guy on? A grand for a rotted to f**k Marina??? A grand of anybodys money would buy you a very nice and pretty much rot free Marina, regardless of whether or not it still has BL power under the bonnet or not, for a rotten Marina to be worth anything ...

Thats actually something I've often thought, both the General and my Marina are 'L' Registrations, but the General is a 1972 'Historic Vehicle' and tax exempt, but my car isn't simply because it's a 1973 L, they're both classic cars, the government are discriminating in an illogical manner, just ...

Yes, I can recommend Powertrack LTD for Girling Hydraulic components, very friendly, helpful and their stuff is reasonably priced, fast delivery too!

Good stuff, nice to see someone else keeping these cars on the road, the clutch slave can be tricky, but like Sean says, all you really need is axle stands or ramps, a long and thin crowbar, and a nice vocabulary of swear words to make things easier, I did the cylinder on mine in April. I wish my ...

Ach, quite right, if they're gonna be that rigid and stuck up, they can stuff it! But that's a good idea, you see anything on show, old 'P' or newer, get them telt!! So, see you all (or some) at Chatelherault next Sunday.

Thats brilliant! Thank you very much, I think since my car came from Llanelli and it stayed there its whole life, it was probably supplied new by J.B Wheeler. I just think it's nice to know such trivialities!

BL Dealers

I was wondering if anyone knew the names of all the BL dealers operating around the Cardiff/Carmarthenshire area in 1972/73? Just for my own curiosity!

Couldn't agree more, Clarkson is a total C**t and he puts me off watching Top Gear, I wish they'd ditch him and just leave it with Jim May and Hamster, at least Hamster owns a classic, you remember Oliver from botswana, the wee 1963 Opel Ascona A, Practical Classics are restoring it for him. Lets ...
