After a 2 hour session looking for something else I found this amongst my old brochures that I forgot I had!!

If its a mk1 then you wont have any antiroll bar mounts on the chassis and will need to cut/drill holes to mount it.
Im in the process of mounting a damper kit and an antiroll bar on my mk1 and after a dry run it all just about misses each other,although the bottom position of the shock is so far in ...

Now I may be wrong here but I believe you would need to inform DVLA of the change of body shell(different chassis number) to confirm year of manufacture(for taxation).VOSA may want to inspect to confirm this.
