i have driven the 1700 and can say car was every bit as good as it looked. The blue one however will need a bit of work. Not much but rear of sills will need welding for a kick off. It isnt pagent blue either. Good base for project though.

Check in behind the grill see if she has the brackets for the driving lights of the mk3. My 78 mk2 doesnt have. Bumble registered sept 78 i think. Brackets not there but me mk3s do. Well had to replace them on eeh but jgn has got the necessary brackets.

As Barry said Itals are quieter. You dont see the front of the cars while you are driving so the front aspect doesnt really matter!. Some bits are unique to the Ital so can be hard to get. Had two front ones fitted and they leak free. I think if you phone them you get it slightly cheaper than eviel bay but not 100% sure.

No support on mk2/3 or Itals either. However make sure the radio you put in doesnt have to big a body at the rear. Judt seen your post Barry. Glad you ok. Every one you walk away from is a winner. Good old bl tin took the brunt of the shunt. Well seeing the Marina shell was and is very stiff and up to taking a good whack while protecting its occupants.Allegoros shells are not nearly so sturdy.
