I think this guy got locked in the BL factory when it closed down and is slowly knocking out the odd motor!! His cars are amazing 8)
What if the Marina was never built?

Yes, his cars are excellent indeed! I wonder if his Ital actually sold £4800 and reserve not met. The allegro is lovely too and if I was to own one it would have to be a mk1 with a quartex wheel
The Marina did do well for BL considering that BL made a loss on every Mini they produced but the sale of the 1100/ 1300 made up for the short fall.

If the Marina hadn't been made, perhaps the other BL car I like would never have made either, The MG Maestro EFi, A truly great car in itself, fast, good handler, comfortable, I owned one around 2000/01 it was a 89 G with 62,000 miles in British Racing Green, I would've preferred an earlier one (85/86 model), mine wasn't great though, had a blown head gasket disguised with radweld, I suspect many bottles, when bought, this only manifested itself 3 weeks after I bought it, going down the M74 and I see a load of rusty looking water flowing out over the drivers side wing, pulled in and there it was, water pissing out of the expansion bottle overflow and oil pissing out over the gearbox!!!! But after I got the head skimmed and replaced the head gasket, she really went well, until big holes appeared in the floor and spoilt the party, swapped it for a MK1 Golf and have been looking back ever since!! The one I would really like would be one of the limited run of 505 Turbo MG Maestro, you see a few kicking about on ebay from time to time, and you never know, VBX is going nowhere, I'm never going to sell it, but it may get a younger sister from the next generation!
