Russ...you appear to have upset him!, as far as originality goes i`m inclined to agree with you mate, i would never advertise my Mumford as an original Mumford TC if i were to sell it because at the end of the day it is not, even though it has every detail correct to all intents and purposes, selling the car as something it is not is in the end FRAUD!, I see this all too often with fake Mini Cooper `S` s, it should really be sold as a Reshelled TC, NOT a Genuine TC.

Now I may be wrong here but I believe you would need to inform DVLA of the change of body shell(different chassis number) to confirm year of manufacture(for taxation).VOSA may want to inspect to confirm this.
If you remove the original chassis number and replace it with the 1800 one then it is a type of "ringing"to try and cover up the bodies identity.
He must be very careful how he presents this vehicle for sale if he does not declare what he has done.

Just a little up date on this car

Jason a client of mine who works at a local clutch and service centre,now only last week this car came in for a new off side front tyre and tracking repairs (trackrod end/top ball joint and alignment) and a bottle of Radweld was added to a slightly leaking radiator, repairs after hitting a curb due to road works.

While on the ramp Jason gave the car a once over,and told me the car had been bodged all over,and that poor underside welding had been covered over with lashings of mastic underseal,and that no panel was free from filler,the car is now the property of a dealer and will be shortly put up for sale,for around £1600/£1800 with a 12 months full test,Jason said that although the car looked and sounded great,the body would start to go (meaning rot) the first sign of bad weather,and he mentioned also that the interior smelt of damp!

So please be aware if you fancy this vehicle..........,for as the saying goes "all that glitters is not gold"

I saw this car today on Halifax Road parked in the Tesco car park,and i had a good look at it it looks really well,would look better with some nice wheels instead of the plain tc ones,spoke to the driver and he using it till he get a new car,as he knows the man who owns it,he said the car started and ran well but used a lot of oil and petrol,he said if i wanted it to call the owner as he wanted to sell it and was open to an offer (for the right money he would pop an Ital engine in for me for a bit extra) Looks like it could make a real minter.
