HOW MUCH!

Post by Uncle Frank » Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:29 am

 I know we all like a good moan about the price of panels (myself included), but after having a conversation with my Allegro friend in Scotland i think we`ve got it pretty cushy!, he recently had to fork out £550 for a new front panel! AND IT WAS IN TWO BITS!...Someone had saved two panels that had been robbed of an end to do a corner repair, and cleaned them up to make one useable front panel!, the chap he bought this one off put the other whole one he had on ebay and it sold for....get this...£1.100!!!, so next time i see a Marina front panel for £100 or whatever i shall remember this and think how bl**dy lucky we are!

One of my mates tried to get a front panel for his Allegro last year and the price was just under £500 at the time and again it came in 2 halfs.

The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....

The Allegros front pannel is double skinned and one of its few rot traps. I'm sure the club were looking at having a batch remade, but £500 for an original molested one?
I know they are scarce, but that is simply stupid money!
