Not going to disagree with any of that and TBH the TG baiting doesn't really worry me either. I'm pretty sure out there tonight there are capri lovers upset that may crashed his into a piano and 300ZX clubs upset that a potentially good project or drift car has been banger raced with a reasonable looking S2 944. (Which I suppose will have upset 944 owners...) It's entertainment to a lot of people out there I suppose but it's not been a car programme for some time now, more like a motoring version of the Jerry Springer show. Jeremy Clarkson - more like Jeremy Kyle. If everybody liked the same cars, the world would be a boring place.

I missed tonight’s show unfortunately but was pleasantly surprised to see that the forum hasn’t been bombarded with immature individuals like the last time. Having said that there is still over a thousand registered usernames and I expect that 90% of these are not Marina enthusiasts!

Anyway, the car got destroyed as usual but at the end of the day who are we to complain really. The car was offered back to Marina enthusiasts for much cheapness but nobody wanted it which is understandable as we all have the cars we want and most of us can’t accommodate another car to the collection.

The Marina isn’t the greatest 70’s (designed in the late 60’s) car which I’m sure most genuine enthusiasts in here will agree with but it’s a car we chose to like and hence why we own them and for any other (so called) classic car enthusiast to judge and poke fun at the Marina isn’t a car enthusiast at all, more an -insert rude word here- in my opnion!

On a final point, the Marina wasn’t meant to run 10 years as someone in here previously mentioned. I think its run expediency was between 4 and 6 years but with British Leyland being cash strapped at the time the Marina went on longer than expected and as you know was replaced by the Ital which is a car that should have never been developed in my opinion. Instead British Leyland could have improved the Mk3 on home soil rather than spend money getting pininfarina to restyle it but that’s another subject…

On a final final point. I was the last clansman at Ecosse to drive the car and can confirm that it drove beautiful and James May has sat on a seat that I have farted on! :D

HI,
I had a shuftie at i-player as I only caught the final seconds of the TG prog.
Perhaps they can now get different car to pick on as the joke has had its sell by date exceeded.
I suggest we club together and get a GT40 and drop a Brass Band on it at some stage......Just for a laugh
as we are kind, friendly, open minded, diplomatic Morris men!

The word "jealousy" springs to mind for topgear. Why take them on? You are ony makeing a rod for your owne back. Idle threts are made, which nobody on eather side are capable of carrying out.  kids!

I have just watched last nights show on i player in between the afternoon race meetings from Yarmouth and Ayr,and you know what? it was rubbish pure and unadulterated rubbish and talk about set up,can the ad-libs be any more rehearsed i ask myself?

The Marina did well, bloody well i bet much to the disappointment of Larry,Curly and Moe,these three geography teacher lookalikes tried their best to fain interest in the pre-arranged tasks they were given, perhaps James May would have been happier putting a colour rinse though his hair (roots James roots!) or giving it a wash for that matter,Richard Hammond is just so false remember he's the little slimy kid who sucked up to the big boys at school, the one who started the fights but let someone else finish them, and Jezza,[quote] "the worlds least practical man" who manages to change a a rear tail light bulb, not the hardest of jobs there, but is in a state of rapture with the experience.

The trusty Marina 1800 Special, performed great and looked well (even James May said that) for a 30+ year old car,the Capri 2.8 26+ years old and the Nissan the Porsche both 19 years old far more expensive cars to buy when new and to varying degrees of vehicle technological advancement and innovation 10 years is a long time in the car world the programme was Not as bad as i thought it might have been just a lot more boring i won't be watching Top Gear again i an hurry and that's for sure.

I din't see this program , but as i see it, TG is just show-business, and never pretended to be a documentary about cars.
When i take that into account i kind of like it (only car-programme i actually get over here :) )
after all bbc wants to sell programme-time not educate the people about cars/car-history.
what amazez me a bit are the many watchers on this topic :)

They're only waiting to see the Marina-owner baiting start........

I suspect those with the attention span TG is aimed at will be bored by the time that starts, and majority of us on here won't care anyway....
The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....

Stu, you must bring a Piano to Selkirk to enter into the show, were all doing it this year, A small replica will suffice!

You've been listening to Clarkson too much mate, HARRIS MANN styled the Ital in Longbridge, ItalDesign worked out how to nail it together and the Press Department had a field day spreading rumours that half-arsed hacks still keep spouting on about as fact. The idiot even had an Ital in one of his series and was making a point that ItalDesign were so embarrassed by it that it wasn't in their portfolio - which is quite reasonable seeing as they had NOTHING to do with its design! Never mind, why let a good tale get in the way of truth?

Tell ya what, I can see small pianos being the 'must have' accessory for Marina owners this year!

"Ooh, I can't hold it Dad!"
"Don't worry Son, I've shifted more pianos than you've had hot dinners."
"Cooee, cooee Mr. Shifter. Light refreshment."
"Thank you most kindly Madam."
"Oh my..!!"
"One way of shifting it."

"Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot?"
