Hi, Just wondered if anyone knew which car this jack is for?
I found it when clearing out my garage and it is identical to the Marina MK1 jack but got a bigger head which butts to the car with a groove as if it was to fit over the sill lip instead of the actual jacking point!
here is a picture -
It may even be better than the marina one as it will spread the load but don't think it will be any good on the marina sill but maybe on the chassis rail!
It must have come from my uncle who had my Jubilee before me, but not sure if they did this sort of jack for the Marina.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Paul.

Looks like an Allegro jack to me Paul, i think you were supposed to jack them on the sills only...and very carefully too! (according to an old AA friend of mine, they used to pop out their rear windscreens if you jacked them in the wrong place!)

Hi Paul
My 74 Coupe has no jacking points so would it be for this?

Thats the same jack as issued with the Austin Morris 1100/1300 range of cars.

Thanks to all for their posts.
Sounds like it is for either Morris 1300 / 1100 or Allegro.
It is not a Marina Jack and as far as I know not issued with them.
I think it would also do a Marina but under the chassis rail, only problem would be if it slipped off so would need some care!
I may take it down to the car next weekend and see what happens and how stable it is on the flat.
So surprised to see a Jack almost the same as a marina type.

Hi Jan Ivar,
Is the Jack pictured an Allegro one then?
You must know for sure if you have 2 of them unless of coarse you have not seen them being they are in the UK :?

i've seen that jack in one of my cars (have an allegro parts car here in norway as well) But IIRC it was in one of my ADO16's . Presumably a mk2. But i've sold all ADO16's but a VDP mk1 - so can't be sure

The car WAS driveable up to a week ago , but one of the driveshafts have come loose, so will be needing a trailer, comes with a new inner front wing LH. Think there are new cluct-hydraulics on it. Also comes with a complete rose interior. VP-dashboard professionally fitted. Bought off ebay a month ago for £2000 - looking for around £1000. Car is in Shrewsbury - Shropshire. Doesn't need too much to get on the road, but if you wan't a show car standard it requires a bit of work . It is thought that 19 were produced in all.
