ITS ALIVE!!!

Well guys and gals, a few months has gone by since acquiring 'woody' from Clive down in Londonshire, my wife has been in and out of hospital so done some bits to it but not much, one of the main things to do was to get it started, when i had got it the engine was locked up, i'm not suprised as it was in a garage for the last 16 years, i managed to free the engine by taking the spark plugs out and putting wd40 and 3in1 oil down the bores and leaving it overnight, i've been onto the Universal Motors site, mainly MGB's and MGA's etc but as mine is an 1800 MK1 the engine is the same, i did exactly what John Twist of Universal Motors said to set the static timing, check the ignition circuit, coil and the carb etc, it still wouldn't start :? so i got my wife to sit in and start it up while i pi**ed about with the dissy, it started up after i had backed the dissy off from the initial setting that i had got, switched it off, waited for it to cool down and it started up again straight away, yyyaaaaayyyyyy, now to sort them ventilation holes out
