Cars wanted for magazine photoshoot 30th October

Post by MarinaCoupe » Mon Oct 18, 2010 9:42 am

Hi all,

I took a call from journalist Andrew Roberts, he's contacted the club he's looking for a Coupe, Saloon and Estate for a feature in Classics Monthly, celebrating the Marinas 40th Birthday next year. The photoshoot will be in the Newbury area on 30th October (it's a Saturday). They have already got a Suntor and a Van

We are looking to put up the best cars we can, so offers of cars to me asap by PM. They can be mark 1, 2, 3s or Itals. Need to be as standard to look at as possible.

Based on previous experience these things take several hours to do so expect it to be an all daylight hours shoot.

Thanks,

Hi Chris,
My TC Coupe will be available if needed. Andrew used my car for a feature in Classics Monthly last year. He also test drove it for the write-up, so he knows the car.
He may want something different, but the offer is there.

Dave Bristowe.

Thanks for the offer Dave, unfortunately they are looking for cars not previously featured.

Now have a saloon, still looking for Coupe and Estate.

Ahh, it was you that called me the other day, I thought it might have been! Apologies for not getting back to you, I've had a somewhat manic few days. I'm afraid I'm away that weekend but even if I wasn't the car really isn't up to magazine standards- mechanical maladies ignored the paintwork is poor, with a big patch a primer on one wing, and the interior essentially non existent! It is very solid, but it ain't pretty...

Sorry I can't be more help- although I did spot another Marina locally it's a.) worse than mine and b.) not an estate so not much help, and I don't know of any others "round these parts".

Sorry Chris. Meant to call you yesterday. I spoke to Joe-he doesn't know of any estates on the road down this way-never mind a good one!!! Though he reckons his brother Jason has the oldest surviving estate..........

OK David,

I am still awaiting a reply from a member from Gloucester way, but if anyone else can help then let me know.

There are so few estates around these days and even fewer on the road.

Not showing at NEC now, my Coupe was the fourth car as we have a larger space this year. Except that there is a pillar offset to oneside of the centre of the plot, so we can only get 3 cars on. Tiny was really apologetic.

Bu**er!!!!!!

Anywho, I shall be on the stand all day Saturday, are you coming up Kevin?

Hi All,

Spoke with the journalist organising next weekends photoshoot. In the absence of an Estate Marina, is anyone able to bring a good Ital saloon (or Estate) instead?
