As you can see the tray is not straight and you can either line up with the dash trim or the lower vinyl section but not both.
The dash trim fixing holes all line up with the lower section part of the dash so I can't see a way to alter this without moving switch holes etc.
I wondered if the lower vinyl part had got bent or twisted!
Also the gauge pod is a sod and the steering cowling which did not line up with the ignition but I think I stand more chance to get the cowling lined up out of the 3 things.

Something ive noticed about these lower dash panels is the later the year the worse the fit of the ash tray, it appears the template for the holes has slowly krept upwards over the years makinf the facial trim panel rise.. the fix for this i've found to to relocate the plastic captive nuts lower to bring the facia panel down, note in your picture paul that its quite a way up from the lower edge...

The problem is that means the radio hole and the switch holes are also in the wrong place and that becomes loads of work and the possibility of the switches being loose
Hence I left it as it was
Hi Kilroy, sorry to confuse you but the pictures of the dash not lining up are my Jubilee, and the ones that look nice are Gary's Mumford

I posted a link to an article (off OzMarina, from WA P76 club mag) by a former Leyland Australia manager, who was responsible for warranty work. He commented that the dash design was a shocker from an assembly point of view, because all the pieces had to be lined up perfectly (a rare event  ) or it looked like a dogs breakfast

. My old Coupe had a glovebox lid that never sat level, and the ashtray wasn't much better.

Hi Adz, sorry for confusing everyone :?
The pod was hard to get, lots of Ebay searches and then finding gauges I wanted to fit etc.
I have seen one the same come up on Ebay since so they are about.
This is a Harry Moss one which was identical to the one which was in my original Jubilee. Plus all the same gauges
