Hi Son,

Stainless steel has always been a very general term for some alloy steels, they used to be steel with chrome, molibdinum (can't spell), vanadium added. More or less of each alloy and now nodoubt others to produce the properties required. Some are easily machined while others require special cutting tools or grinding.

I've a lump here to make a clutch slave cylinder from, as its to be turned and only has low pressure I intend to make it very thin and so lighter than the cast iron jobby (just to see how dificult the job is).
