the clearence problems you have with the radiator
nothatmarinaman started with an aussie Leyland marina with the deeper front valance to get extra room for the radiator
i think all he had to do was relocate the oil filter

The later Leyland also had the advantage of the larger trans tunnel for the 262's 3-speed BW box.
A lot of effort, and a lovely result.

As for thye rad, I can't remember who (I think it was Rob), but someone here did a V8 ute and used two Mini rads mounted either side of the water pump and plumbed together. Worked quite well as far as I remember.
The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....

Re: i drive a v8 marina
yer ive seen pictures of notthemarinamans those pics are what made me stop talking and do it i dont know him but i thank him imensly. his one is the later body shape mines a 72 would of been nice to use the later car but beggers cant be choosers. i also had to move the oil filter. has any of you guys used the 4.4 leyland crank in the rover block iv got one sitting there but am stumped as to what piston rod combo people use as the leyland pistons have a really deep dish. cant use leyland block extra deck hieght makes it to wide with the headers on & i would have to reengineer it, nsw is really strict on what you can & cant do hell if i couldnt of proven the foden v8s existed my engineer siad he wouldnt of done it but it was some kind of precedent so that makes it ok? so yeah any help would be great as ive got the bug it goes like stink but i want more, i now its been done just dont know with what some say chev rod or 265 hemi rod but i have stuff all cash so i dont want to buy things twice. thanks
Re: i drive a v8 marina
looking at nothatmarinamans car i few years ago ( itook pics but cant find them as yet)
his 4.4 fitted in fairly well with a set of headers, a little tight but fitted okay
he's on the north side of brisbane and i'm on the south.
his now going for a modified 4.6 EFI from a Rangie
he has strengthen the engine bay for all of this
original 4.4 is from a truck (Leyland Terrier) and they are low compression that is why it has the deep
dishes in the pistons
keep the posts coming
have a look for a yahoo group in australia for marinas

There is a good discussion on Rover and Leyland V8 swaps here, and comparison of Rover, Leyland, and Buick versions (including heaps of side-by-side pics) here.
Also check out the info here.
