See what happens when you leave your Ital on your own drive!

Post by ClaytonSpeed » Mon Jun 20, 2011 12:31 pm

I've had Dad's Ital down with me to sort out the brakes and give it a tune up. It was sat on my Drive last week when my 84 year old neighbour decided to drive down the side of it..Twice!

Two new doors required (Thanks go to Pont.Skins) and Insurance work to be carried out by Mr Frank Phillips.

Unfortunately it will not be at the National :-( You can tell we were not amused. !

Ben

sorry to hear that Ben, that sucks big time, unfortuneatly thats the UK driver regs, i think that everyone should have a renewal of license every 3 to 5 years with a test and medical, no matter what age, there are lots of elderly drivers (and some younger ones ) that wouldn't pass a test let alone a medical but provided they complete a self declaration that they are fit to drive DVLA will renew their d/l ..
I am currentley on a 3 year restricted license due to me being diabetic (on insulin) which will revert back to unrestriced at next renewal as i no longer use insulin to control the diabetes.but there is no control over bad drivers to stop what happened to your car Ben, i supose on the up side he was insureed and your car will be fixed, but still a pain eh?

anyway RANT OVER ..AND IT WASN'T EVEN MY CAR ;) ..

To say the least I was peed off. Thankfully there was a witness and the neighbour has admitted fault. Typical it happened the day I got it out of the garage to get it ready for the MOT!

Now to find a car for the National..

I am glad he admitted it! Lets face it, your dads car was parked off the road and stationary so I think he is 100% at fault. Good to have a witness to confirm.
This happened to me many years ago out side a friends house and I only discovered it when I came out to go home.
Lucky someone saw it and remembered the van and name on the side and it was very local, friend said I have seen that van some where and we had a scout around to find it still with my paint on it!
They said the dog jumped on their lap and they thought they had only hit the curb (Crying a lot - as it was a her partners company van).

They lost that claim I pleased to say.

Dunno mate, the neighbour said she just turned into the space, hit it, reversed and then went for it again!

Are Top Gear training up geriatrics to wreck Marinas?!
