Marina statistics?

Post by BLLand80 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 8:23 pm

Hi,
Is there anywhere on internet any statistics of Marinas models etc?
I´m interested in how much it was made TC, DeLuxe, SuperDeluxe, Jubilee, Special.....all models.
And of course how much coupes, saloons, estates etc. Colours too. As much as possible statistics of the Marina would be nice to see!
Regards, Juha

Hi Juha,

The general consensus is that BL threw away most of their production statistics from the 1970s, by comparison pre the merger of BMC and Leyland from the 1940s to the late 1960s, the production numbers, chassis nos. colours etc. are all kept at Gaydon Museum, which is how they can issue Heritage Certificates. If you ask about Marinas they can't help.

A discussion with someone at BMW Cowley the other day who had been there since the 1970s and he said that some of the BL & AustinRover records went to Gaydon Museum, but he thought that much of the retained records had never been indexed. So the Museum doesn't actually know what they have. But of course that doesn't mean that they have any Marina records.
