Unfortunately Eamonn, `Lord Montagu` hates all things British Leyland, especially Allegros` and Marinas so you are unlikely to ever see one there i`m afraid  , shame really as it is a good venue and i have spent many weekends there over the years.
Even sadder is the knowledge that Gaydon had several rare Marinas in their collection and have got rid of them all to auction!, this despite having several Minors on display inside   , i always thought museums were places to view the rare and unusual, not the stuff you see on every street corner or at nearly every car show you go to!
Sorry i get a bit annoyed when i think of it, but it just gets my goat when you go to these places and they always find room for minors and mgb`s but none for Marinas and Allegro`s.
Rant over...i`ll shut up now

The safety car was called the SRV "Safety Research Vehicle" I did have a pamphlet on it somewhere.

This was it a number of years ago, not sure what happened to it. iirc there were a number of cars left outside of the Heritage Motor Museum a few years ago all rusting and getting very wet..

I saw a Marina at Beaulieu once.. It was a blue Mk3 with a cool 70's gold "Go Faster" stripe kit. Admittedly it was in the autojumble auction that day.

Regards,

Ben

Someone must remember the Marina Pick Up beaulieu used to have as a site vehicle? I remember seeing it on one of my first visits to the autojumble.

no need to appologise unc.. i agree with you.. theres a place for all cars in museums, esp Marinas IMHO, But i have to admit I enjoy driving my cars and although I'd love my own motor museum i would have to drive the cars on a regular basis,.. what winds me up is people who have never driven a car yet still seem to have an opinion of what they are like, just becaause of what they've heard on tv or from others who also have no knowledge... but then we have to feel sorry for those who know no better
