Shaking at 50

Hi

My marina drives ace , till I get the 50 then the steering shakes , after 50 it is fine.....

Balanced my wheels and its not a ball joint etc....

any ideas?


also has anyone fitted a fan switch that has different speed settings?

Sounds like tie bar bushes! Get onto Superflex and find some replacements! www.superflex.co.uk


When you say fan speeds do you mean the blower fan?

Yes the blower fan ,its a bit noisy and a slower speed would be great....


tie bar ,is that the same as anti roll bar?

Dandaz, the superflex part number is: SPF0669 you will need 4 of them.

As for other reasons it could be the rack. I had the same problem as Paul and I replaced the rack for a genuine one and it certainly helped. Also bearings have an effect too. Make sure they aren't worn and slack/over tightened.

The other area I looked into was my Ital top arms.. Now obviously Mk1's don't normally have these so that was more on my own car but If you do have them fitted for a telescopic conversion then always check.

8) i started to wobble before i was fifty...sorry steering we are on about. maybe even a wheel with a slight buckle. get the wheels balanced and when on the machine you will see if the wheel is buckled or not..there are umpteen things it could be.
