DVLA Changes

Post by MarinaCoupe » Sun Oct 20, 2013 3:42 pm

Many of you will be aware of the problem local with DVLA offices being closed. I have had a letter from the DVLA explaining future arrangements.

1. Don't send original documents to Swansea.
2. Individuals cannot certify their own documents.
3. From this Monday 21/10/13 registered clubs like ours can take copies of documents and certify them, so that copies can be submitted and be accepted. Chairman or Secretary can sign.
4. If you are applying for an old reg number using the V765, you will get a V5 back and it can then be taxed at a post office (no mention of online). This only applies to the first time the car is taxed.

Brighton office has been there as long as I can remember
Is this in relation to the new tax free for 1973 cars?

Or just general?

General, but it will include the new 1973 tax free cars. The only place to authorise Historic status will be Swansea. Also people looking to get a V5 for a car that has lost its registration, using the V765 form.

It's just coincidence that the week I get the new 1973 build stats, the DVLA write to say how they will change how people get the tax free status.
