New Club Website Launched Today!!

Post by JoshWard » Tue Jan 07, 2014 11:06 am

Hi everybody,
Just to let you all know our shiny new Club website has launched today!
Some of you will know I took over the role as Web Administrator at the October AGM from Chris (MarinaCoupe). Chris was the man who had the foresight to set up the original club website several years ago and I am sure we would all like to thank him for that and his work over the years. Thanks must also go to Ben for the design of the new site!

Be warned that some things aren't quite finished yet and I still have plenty of new content to put on there but the main thing was to get everything copied over from the old site to the new site.

Expect to see some social media presence sometime in the next few weeks

As always you can find the club website at morrismarina.org.uk or morrisital.org.uk

Please have a good look round and let me know what you think and if you spot any errors then please let me know

Josh.

It looks very nice and for once I can get into some of the sections I couldn't before.

Congratulations to all who have worked to keep the club going over the years and to produce and moderate the old and new website.

Thanks for the comments

The Club Facebook page launched tonight. It has been up for less than an hour and has 35 'likes' which is pretty good I think
You can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/morrismarinaownersclub

I am not sure how much non-Facebook members will be able to see, you won't be missing out though as anything on the Facebook page should also be on the website as well sometime.

What happened to the New Morris Marina Web site? The Ital one still works but the other one has just a front page screen and no content
I see the old one is also now taken down.

Looks good in the new format by the way

Don't know Josh is running it. I know he was working on it earlier.

Some changes are being made to the hosting arrangements so everything will be reuploaded onto the website as soon as I can get in to the place where I need to upload it too

I haven't done anything to remove the content from the website- it must have happened automatically when the new hosting system was arranged.

All

Hopefully now you should all be able to see the new website again?

We had to move the 456MB site from one server to another. You'll also see the link to our Facebook page.

I can't begin to claim any of the kudos for design or building of the website, plaudits belong to Ben for the original design and Josh for making it all happen.

Well done guys.

Chris can however claim to spending hours transferring the site over though and sorting out the technical issues in doing so

Thanks Chris
