Been to Newark autojumble today parked next to a beige ital there
fetched back in my ital with trailer 1.7 complete engine/gearbox/full exhaust system (front and rear)r1.7 radiator,2 rear screens 4 doors and a bootlid
2 cut along story short, the peridot ital on ebay 2 weeks ago had been bought and then broken up for bits for this guys van,he put an advert in classic car weekly and I rung about bits,he was coming to Newark this sunday so I arrange collection there 2 save these bits.
my dads car is in peridot so it made sense to have the doors and bootlid for spares
I had the other o'series bits which was surplus to him
what a shame he broke the car :( and he paid good money for it!! :-?
best regards

Well done Barry. Shame it's been broken, looked in decent condition too, but at least you saved as much as possible for your Dad's car. Good job you've got that trailer!

Replaced steering rack on saloon. Clonking noises cured! Also replaced track rod ends and had tracking checked.

Cheers Barry, yes managed ok, but i reckon i'll ache a bit tomorrow!
I was a bit worried about the replacement rack though as it was one i bought off ebay a couple of years ago. You never know if someone has just wafted a bit of paint over an old one rather than actually reconditioned it but thankfully this one feels nice and tight. It was the classic worn bush causing the problem in the old rack causing a horrible knocking noise especially on Sheffield's third world style roads, it also caused a disconcerting judder under hard braking too so i'm glad to get it sorted.

Got my Ital estate woken up after the winter, freed it all off and moved it 6 feet back and forward in the front garden! Just need to rearrange the fleet and get it in the back garden for repairs and then an MOT!

Hopefully not much - mainly new bulbs front and rear where I've 'borrowed' them for other things, replace the wiper/indicator stalks as some clumsy oaf broke them....... ;) , master cyl overhaul, possibly an exhaust repair (?), maybe a bit of welding to the rear offside flank and anything else that rears its ugly head. She's still holding up OK for a six-year-old resto..

Well not much to report but I managed to squeeze a few hours in the garage this weekend and got some more jobs done to the pick up. The tailgate is finally finished and the entire O/S lower panels are in stonechip. I won't get near the garage next weekend so not much will be happening for another couple of weeks :(
Beauty with brains behind it!
