VERY fresh looking Maestro motor. 8-)
If you use an MG metro water heated inlet with the HIF44 carb on an Ital needle and keep the exhaust manifold, it will do a good 45mpg and be very sprightly. A+'s rock.

I'm very impressed with my unleaded A+ in my Pickup.

I've the remains of the original A+ now over bored, a spare head for unleading and a new crank as the old one is too far gone.

The alternative would be to add a BMW K series bike head to the A+ block.

I'm not out to get any out and out powaaaar out of this one, nor do I want anything drastically non original- although with one's anorak on there will be a lot wrong with the engine it'll still look and sound like a single carb A series, which is the main thing. The car is too original to do anything drastic with...

Maestro inlet manifold is silly, MG Metro (but keeping the HIF44 and exhaust manifold) inlet is indeed the plan 8-)

Well last night I chaffered my mate & his girl friend on a 250 mile round trip to Oxford and back in the old girl.
Sadly It was due to my mates uncle having being admitted to hospital, and he pretty much was going to say goodbye.
A bit of a depressing evening but it didn't dampen our spirits and we passed the old Cowley plant on the way.
The car performed admirably, proving again how reliable she is in all conditions. On a happier note, I shall be
attending the "super dooper 70's day" at Wroxham Barns in Norfolk later this year, a mere 250 ish miles from me!

Look forward to meeting fellow Marinaists there :D

 Will be having to insure the coupe soon so that will be maxing out my overdraft! Then it will be time to start paying the student loan back :rolls:

Thanks for the offer Chris, much appreciated, think I will stick with the 70s show though, really enjoyed it last year. Nats next year in the coupe hopefully assuming I don't go and blow all my money on any more cars.....

The British public of 1971 would have agreed with that. Out of the seven TC Coupes I have on the 71 register five are Blaze!
The other two are Teal Blue and Limeflower.
